The December SAT is on Saturday 5 December 2026. The countdown below runs to 8:00 US Eastern Time, when test centers there close their doors. Elsewhere the test starts at your center's local time: check your admission ticket.

Dates and deadlines

  • Registration deadline: 20 November 2026
  • Late registration, changes and cancellations: 24 November 2026
  • Deadlines end at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (US), and late registration costs extra.

The next test dates after December are 6 March, 1 May and 5 June 2027. If December comes too soon, open the December SAT countdown, choose "Customize", and change the date.

On test day

The SAT is digital: you take it in the Bluebook app on a laptop or tablet. The test has two sections, Reading and Writing, then Math, with a short break between them. Check your admission ticket for your center's exact start time, and bring your ticket, a photo ID and a charged device with Bluebook installed.

Eight weeks, roughly

  • Weeks 1–3: Take one full practice test in Bluebook to get a baseline. Then work on the question types you miss most, in short daily sessions.
  • Weeks 4–6: One full practice test a week, on a Saturday morning, starting at 8:00. Review every miss: was it content, timing, or a careless slip?
  • Weeks 7–8: No new material. Redo old mistakes, and move your sleep so 8:00 feels normal.

For full practice tests, our exam timer shows the time left in big numbers and gives notices at 30, 15 and 5 minutes. For daily practice, a Pomodoro timer keeps each session to 25 minutes and records it against the task, so you can see where the hours actually went.

Dates follow College Board's published 2026–27 SAT schedule. If it changes, College Board's notice is what counts.
