The 2027 AP Exams run over two weeks in May: 3–7 May and 10–14 May 2027. The countdown below runs to the first morning session, 8:00 US Eastern Time on Monday 3 May. Exams start at 8:00 local time wherever you are, so outside the Eastern time zone your start is at a different moment.

Key dates

  • Exam weeks: 3–7 May and 10–14 May 2027
  • Late testing: 17–21 May 2027
  • Morning exams start at 8:00 and afternoon exams at 12:00, local time
  • Exam orders: schools send them to College Board in November 2026, and later orders cost more. Ask your AP coordinator if you haven't signed up yet.
  • Portfolio deadlines: 30 April 2027 for AP Computer Science Principles, AP Seminar, AP Research and the world languages; 7 May 2027 for AP Art and Design (11:59 p.m. ET)

Your first exam may not be on 3 May. Look up your subjects on College Board's exam schedule, then open the AP Exams countdown, choose "Customize", and set the date and time of your first exam.

A plan for the spring

  • Now to February: Keep up with class. At the end of each unit, do a few released free-response questions so the exam format isn't new in April.
  • March: Take one full practice exam per subject under timed conditions. Make a list of the units where you lost the most points.
  • April: Work through that list. Practice the free-response sections with the real time limits; that is where most students run short.
  • The week before each exam: Short reviews, old mistakes, and enough sleep for an 8:00 or 12:00 start.

For timed practice, our exam timer shows the time left in big numbers and gives notices at 30, 15 and 5 minutes. With several subjects at once, a Pomodoro timer records each 25-minute session against its task, so you can see whether one class is taking all your time.

Dates follow College Board's published 2027 AP Exam schedule. If it changes, College Board's notice is what counts.
